Buffalo Girl accompanies the Buffalo Kachinas during ceremonial dances and reflects the importance of the buffalo in Hopi tradition, where prayers are offered for abundance, good health, and successful harvests.
Old-style Kachinas are traditionally made for hanging, and this carving includes a loop on the back for wall display.
